With John Cena still out of action after undergoing surgery to correct a broken nose from two weeks ago on RAW, WWE World Heavyweight champion is still without a challenger for next Sunday's WWE SummerSlam PPV.
Rollins issued a bold challenge to Cena last week, proposing that both men put their championships on the line in a winner take all battle. In the event that John Cena is not medically cleared to compete by next week, f4wonline.com reports that the plan is for Rollins to defend against Randy Orton and Sheamus in a triple threat match.
The possibility of Rollins being shifted into a triple threat match is the reason why Sheamus cost Randy Orton his main event title match on RAW. In the event that Cena is able to compete, expect to see Orton vs. Sheamus added to the card.
Shade at taker?During a recent appearance on the Last Round Podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan's talked about Brock Lesnar and The Steiner Brothers being unsafe in the ring and if he would be interested in one last run. Here's their exchange:
Duggan: "You know the guy (presumably The Undertaker), he does a lot of high risk moves for an older man, out there taking... working with Brock Lesnar is dangerous anyway because Brock doesn't seem to care about his partner. It's easy to hurt people though. If I give you my body, then you gotta take care of me. Some guys don't give a darn and Brock doesn't give a darn, he'll just throw people around. Steiners used to be like that."
Host: "I think the politically correct way to say it is, they don't know their own strengths..."
Duggan: "No, no, no... they take advantage of people. They take advantage of people. When you get another hardnose out there they seem to loosen up really quick."
Host: "Would you like to have one last stint in the WWE before calling it quits..."
Duggan: "I think if the money was right and I had some creative control of my character I would definitely consider it"
WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has been keeping relatively quiet since the initial fallout of his racism controversy last month, mostly just re-tweeting supportive messages from fans.
Hogan, who is celebrating his 62nd birthday today, has made no secret about wanting to get back in the ring at WrestleMania next year, teasing his return in almost every interview he's done this year.
The Hulkster broke his silence on Tuesday morning and let the world know he hasn't given up hope on one final match:
