Because people of this generation try so hard to emulate past greatness of previous generations. I notice kids of this generation are always trying to stack up to past greatness and trying to "make history" and put a stamp on it with nothing truly substantial to show. Is it a testament of how wack this generation truly is? I'm not sure because people always compare those of their time to previous times.

People constantly compare Lebron, who just won his FIRST ring to guys like MJ and Kobe. :birdman: Just stop. Lebron wont be Jordan. He wont be Kobe. He will be Lebron. But it doesnt stop at Lebron. Any new artist or actor or entetainment figure gets compared to men and women of the past. The amount of times that I've heard _____ is this generations _____. It gets annoying and dont get me wrong I'm from this generation. I just notice people in this generation have no respect for the true greatness of the previous gens and the art and milestones they created.

I remember the dream team thread and dudes were seriously saying the guys now would beat the dream team one which was MJ in his prime, A 29 year old Magic, Bird, Stockton, Barkley who averaged the most points that Olympics, Hakeem the Dream, and Patrick Ewing. I just get the feeling my fellow young dudes get ahead of themselves and get too proud of the minimal acheivments reached. That can even be another discussion about this generation but Its just something I feel is going on. Agree, Disagree I wanna see what you older and younger brehs think.

you're not wrong. I wouldn't be as harsh as you are to this generation, but clearly this generation and every other one before or after wants to feel like they were a part of watching greatness. Believe it or not, everyone here and those before you did it too. It's human nature. Nobody wants to feel like they missed out on the good shyt, but rather they're part of seeing that.

This, our generation is no more guilty of this than any other generation before or to come after. The difference is everyone lives life under the scope, either by choice or by profession. So we're exposed to it more.

exactly, every generation wants to feel like THEY did something unique.

It's going to feel weird 40 years from now when players from that gen are balling and all of us will be on some "fukk that nikka he's no lebron james"

Ironically, ROFL Guy rushed into this thread to do the opposite. Trying to use the Heat championship as a reason to talk about Kobe.
