The concept of kryptonite is kinda dumb if you think about it.

Superman gets his powers from the sun and even the vacuum of space can't trump the solar radiation from the sun.

Metal from krypton shouldn't be able to override it.

And it can't be any old sun. It has to be a YELLOW sun which speaks to the unimagination and ignorance of the creators since the sun isn't yellow. It's white.

But I guess if superman had no weakness, villains like lex Luther would make little sense.

I always thought it was suppose to be symbolic. Supes escaped the death of his planet so those pieces of his home world that followed him to earth are the only things that can kill him. Same with Brainiac, it's like Krypton is trying to claim the soul that got away.

- Oh that S means 'hope' in the most non-specific of ways. Hope for what?

They do very little to explain kryptonian technology. I get that it's fantasy but they shouldn't be using concepts created in the 50s

that's the one thing I don't like about The DC cinematic universe. Its like they rely on too much exposition. They also fail to/barely succeed in applying realism to unrealistic concepts. DC comics classify certain alien technology as magic level tech. This means that to lesser developed planets, some alien technology appear to be supernatural and defies our logic. New Genesis, Apokolyps, Krypton, Lantern Corps all could fall into that category for all we know .
