What's good Boppers as you know since we all been quarantined an in the house we decided to do a series inspired by the IG battles and such good spirited competition. Today we got the third in the series. We pitting myself :obama: against the Bronx homie @Jimmy ValenTime
I'll introduce my project in this post and @Jimmy ValenTime will introduce his in the second. I will then tag the Tunnel fam in the third.
My Project is an older project that I Put together with my partner Red(RIP) it was a little different from my normal RTB work as it's more Detroit Street driven. Red loved that Money shyt :lolbron: it features all the normal players from the RTB fam included Mav(who I still work with), Cizar(RIP) Young Tiff, Gamers Camp etc. I think this project contained probably some of my best performances because I was able to turn over a LOT of the day to day work to Red He died from a Heart Attack right before we were going to officially release this project and put some money behind it and promote it and all that shyt. He was also ahead of his time with that video shyt too. He was like French Montana with the Cocaine City Series. :ehh: but anyway that's just my introduction to my project. Good Luck to my opponent @Jimmy ValenTime Let's get it breh :salute:

Both of these tapes go:myman:. I rocked these joints all day yesterday with the windows open at the crib.

1. Overall Vibe (structure, how dope the samples are if used, melody, sequencing, creativity, etc..)

I actually believe these two tapes are equal in setup, both have some relaxed stuff, club stuff, street stuff, storytelling and introspective stuff:ld:.

The first half of Jimmy's tape started off:whew:. I thought it slowed down just a bit in the middle then ended back on some :whew:. (Sidenote I remember when Jimmy posted the pole song with the gypsy woman sample, still dope :wow:)

Rod's tape was consistent throughout, I thought having the other cast of emcees involved also helped with the cohesiveness, everyone seemed to blend/bounce of each other well.

The difference for me is I thought Rod's samples were a bit more creative especially the flip on - hear in my heart. I am a huge fan of that artist:mjgrin:.

I give the edge to Rod for this phase, plus I felt Rod nailed the elements of detroit him and his crew spoke on 100%. Detroit is a big bag with many ingredients.

2. Mixing (how clean the track sounds)

Mix I thought was even

3. Potential

both of these projects knock and give the listener what they need imo. Like I said I was listening to both yesterday all day and realized they were much alike format wise. I enjoyed both projects. Potential I would mark that even as well.

Since I have to pick one, my vote would go to Rod with deciding factor being the sampling and what was done there.

Great work fellas:salute:

great music all around. I enjoyed the beats on both. There were points on Jimmy's tracks where I said Woah" and most of em were dope, but the artist mixing set it back in my opinion. A dope beat can save an ok song, but a dope beat will never save a track when the audio mixing isn't up to snuff.

That said the beats were topclass and many of the songs were top class especially that Pokemon flip. I played that about 3 times.

Rod's production was good as well, and the artist mixes were consistent for the most part (Having one artist on the tracks helps with the cohesion of the sound.)

I prefered the beats on Jimmy's project but I prefered the mixing on Rod's project.
Not to say that Jimmy's mixes were bad they just weren't consistent.

For that Reason My vote is going to @bigrodthe1
