I watched it this morning. Aunjanue Ellis is incredible in this. She really embodied Dr. Mattie Clark and the elder women of the churches I grew up in.
Kierra did a great job playing her Mom. I could see her blossoming into a legit actor if she wanted to.
Overall it was pretty good effort at telling so much in a movie format. I feel like more of the story could have been fleshed out in a series.
Queen Latifah, Missy, and Mary J Blige produced it...they did a great job.
