The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a landmark civil rights and labor law in the United States that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin..

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

I just thought now was a good time to remind people that something does not have to have written in it "just for Black Americans" for it to be a law that primarily benefits us, even if in theory others can benefit from it as well.

Which is a good thing since the laws that fail to walk this line effectively are getting sued by republicacs and struck down by Trump's supreme court

And others* started being :mjpls: towards black people, which is why adjustments need to be made in the community in terms of interpersonal relations with other groups instead of ignoring the :mjpls: because many of you want to be down with others* THAT badly :why:

You can't legally justify and logically justify civil rights for one group over another.

This is the consequence of not living in a monoracial society and attempted to get fairness instituted. You guys conveniently ignore this.

I'm just talking about what is mentioned in this topic, civil rights. If you want to talk about reparations where specific harm was done to one group, that's different. But if you want to claim civil rights are owed on moral grounds it's hard to explain why this shouldn't apply to others.
