The Boston incident juxtapose with the movie The Siege

The Boston incident reminded me of the movie The Siege, starring Denzel Washington. Which made me think of what would happen if there was a sustained, coordinated campaign of terrorism which occurred in London during “the troubles” in America, or akin to that which was portrayed in the movie in a major American city, like New York, Chicago, Boston, or D.C.? In the movie the president repealed the Posse Comitias Act, which essentially prevents the U.S. military from operating within the U.S. borders. Would you support the Delta Force, Green Berets, or any other Special Forces unit to root out the insurgents to operate in the U.S.? Western society has a tradition of ignoring, or turning a blind eye to expanded chief executive powers going back to Rome when they would elect a dictator during emergencies, the Supreme Court ignored Lincoln’s suspension of habeas corpus during the Civil War, and only took up the case of Ex Parte Milligan after the war was over. It doesn’t matter whether the perpetrators are skinheads/white nationalists/white supremacists/Puerto Rican nationalists/black militants/Arabs/Pakistanis/Zionist Jews, or does it? I’m as big a supporter of civil liberties as much as the next person, but what’s the point of having civil rights if you’re not alive to enjoy them? A lot of people may say Benjamin Franklin said if I may paraphrase, “Show me a people who will give up their liberty for security, and I will show you a people who have neither.”, but again, what’s the point of having civil liberties, if you’re stuck inside your home, too scared to leave because you’re afraid of getting blown up? Or do you believe domestic terrorism should be treated as a crime, and left to the domain of the FBI, and other law enforcement entities?

Its kind of a long story, but during reconstruction after the Civil War, there was an election in 1880 I believe where the results were dodgy; the Republicans and Democrats came to a quid pro quo where the Republicans would occupy the White House, in return for the north withdrawing their troops from the south. Congress passed the Posse Comitatus Act to withdraw the troops, which also prevents the military from operating inside the U.S. with the exception of the Coast Guard, and National Guard thereafter its passage.

Doesnt make since considering the oath enlisted Armed Forces take and the possibility of Civil Wars, invasions, etc.

let's keep some perspective here....those 'freedom fighters' would cut your throat and watch you gurgle gasp your last breath right after you pledged your support. regardless of how much we despise some of the dirt our gov does, the only thing that matters to terrorists is we're americans and they're not.
