That whole period on SD was wacky. All these 80s style characters. Kind of miss it, tbh. Better than "Cesaro is a good wrestler" and "Sami Zayn is a good wrestler" and "Sheamus is a good wrestler" and "Apollo Crews is a good wrestler" type gimmicks.
