I think modern rappers intentionally wear black/ gold the same way as fast food spots use red/yellow.

Red increases your pulse and stimulates appetite. Yellow can be seen from the longest distance. Therefore, as you are driving along, you see the yellow of the logo first and the red makes you want to eat.
