The crazy part about this whole thread is the defense of "Justify My Thug", which was looked at as a bottom tier Jay song from the jump and that song is only mentioned as anything worth talking about on here. Yet, a song that Jay Z STILL performs and is one of the most performed songs in his sets is the worst song on the album. The Booth stays having some of the worst takes ever.
I would say its the worst take ever, but some people have even ran with and co-signed the following:
2Pac "America's Most Wanted" has a wack beat
Biggie's "Juicy" has a wack beat
"Ether" has a wack beat
I will NEVER take this board's opinion on what passes for good production seriously. Posters stay clowning Nas's beat selection, I'm thinking this board is overrun with rhythm less, soul less posters who critique music more than they actually listen to and enjoy it. Basically, Pitchfork type white folk.
Breh who ever said that gotta be trolls both those samples are legit part of black culture and instantly recognized by old heads and millennials.
I refuse to believe that.
Jay has some of corniest songs of all time if we’re being real. Nothing tops this
black album was a 5/5 classic when it dropped. these days i dont really want to hear most of it. i still get hype for Threats...I'm a Justify My Thug stan...but i dont care to listen to Dec 4th, Dirt on your shoulder, 99 Problems or none of that shyt ever again. I never liked Allure. Only the remix version on one of those Jay mixtsapes.
nikkas saying justify my thug? Was it the hook because the verses were fire
yup
same here
u know two another timbaland beats i never liked?
the beats for "is that your chick" and "hey papi"
the drums on those beats always sounded weak to me
So you didn't like the most timberland timberland beats you nikkas are weird
