North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
For one u have to understand why most do it in the first place and it's for the money. Most people would take a little boli or hgh if it would bring them tens of millions more. The risk is worth the reward. The only people that care about numbers is reporters and writers. Teams only care about revenue and balance sheets while fans care about wins and titles.

With all that being said if a player gets caught a 50 game suspension won't do and players will still do it. So why not suspend them for a full season and void Their current contract. When they come back force then to play in the minors for a full season and reset their career. And when I say reset I'm saying put them back on a rookie scale for 3 to 4 years. Force them to play for the rookie minimum for 3 years and make them prove themselves all over again.

Of course the union would never agree to it but if that was the punishment a players career would never be the same financially.

You make it too appealing to the owners. If you had it so deals could be voided, nothing would stop the Yankees from putting steroids in A-Rod's food, his water, his sunflower seeds. They'll put Boli in his cereal bowl if it meant coming out from under that deal.

A 50 game suspension still hurts a lot. It's why you rarely hear about a player being caught twice. And if we're just talking finances, there's a way to circumvent that: go to Japan.
