nah Pees brought that bend but dont break shyt to Baltimore

we were never that type of defense before him

im not ok with letting teams dink and dunk down the field then trying to play defense once they get to the redzone

shyt doesnt work and always costed us winnable games

we call him Swiss Pees for a reason...because there was always big holes in his defense

a lot of Harbaughs blown 4th quarter leads came during the Pees era
2012-17. They came 1 play away from blowing a 28-6 lead in the Super Bowl. Defense blew it in the final minutes vs Philadelphia, at home vs Pittsburgh, and vs Washington.

Gave up a league record 7 touchdown passes on opening night in 2013. Got blown out in week 17 and missed the playoffs by 1 game.

They blew a pair of 14 point second half leads in a playoff game vs the pats at the end of a season where the defense led the league in blown 4th quarter leads including both games vs Cincinnati when just 1 of them would’ve won them the north and not required 3-4 tiebreakers in week 17 to get them into the playoffs in 2014.

Nearly led the league in blown 4th quarter leads during a 5-11 season in 2015.

The defense gave up 3-5 fourth quarter leads in 2016, notably vs Oakland, Washington, and Pittsburgh on Christmas night with the game on the line in the final seconds to lose the north and miss the playoffs.

Week 17 in 2017 they needed to just beat a non playoff Cincinnati team at home to make the playoffs and with maybe 2 minutes left give up a 50 yard td through the air on 4th and 10 at mid field to lose the game and miss the playoffs.

Bro we had so many heartbreaking loses during the Pees era…especially those Steelers games

the Pees era is what made me Harbaugh hater

we were begging him to fire that man for years and he wouldn’t

and now he’s back :francis:

Greg Mattison’s defense was like that in 2009 and 2010 as well. Always dropping 7-8 guys into coverage, simple blitzes that were easy to figure out, no sorts of trickery to get pressure up the middle, and playing corners way too far off the line to the point that there was no way they’d be able to defend the short passing game. In 2010 they led the league in blown 4th quarter leads as well and outside of the 11 sacks Terrell Suggs had the rest of the team had 16 total on the year. 1 per game. Then of course they gave up 24 in the second half of their playoff loss and Mattison went off to take a head coaching job in college. Between that and the Sunday night loss to Pittsburgh and the Monday night game vs Houston a week later is when it was clear to me Harbaugh needed to go. Then after a year of Pagano running the defense, Pees came in and went back to all that Mattison shyt that didn’t work but became even more predictable and brought all his bad tackling that he taught players too :martin:

I sure hope Monken runs the ball and the oline opens holes for Henry and Lamar.

Until Orr, the secondary and LBs get their scheme together in coverage, the offense needs to keep them off the field as long as possible.

Harbaugh and Monken got into it over the headset during the Bills game because Monken wanted Henry to get his 200 yards, but Harbaugh told him no because Henry fumbled. fukk all that moving forward. They need to run 40 times a game to keep the defense off the field. fukk scoring quick...fukk being boring. Hide your weaknesses or get exposed. Henry and Lamar need to have over 250 yards combined on the ground.

True but some of that was personnel too. There were like three of those years where the starting safeties were Elam and random dudes like Kendrick Lewis and Will Hill. I don’t think they were trusted to bring help over top. Secondary got a lot better when they brought Weddle in tho

I don't believe any personnel decisions on this team happen without Harbaugh's approval. Orr can say he's stayed in contact and all that fluff, but I don't believe one bit of it.

This is Harbaugh looking out for Pees and taking blame for anything that goes wrong off himself. He's also giving Orr Pees so he can say, "we tried, it just didn't work out" for the people that would say they didn't do everything they could to help Orr, a new DC who's never called plays.

If they really wanted to help Orr, there are several great former DCs who have had way more success than Pees still looking for employment.

Familiarity breeds complacency. Orr needs someone who will bring a perspective he's not seeing. Pees ain't it...this is wash, rinse, repeat bs.

Harbaugh be hiring people he can manipulate/bully and he's used to. I bet if he brought Vrabel or Belichick in, the defense would be fixed before Halloween. But then, Harbaugh would be exposed for the dumbshyt he does because they're gonna call him out.

This right here sums up harbaugh whole tenure here
