Not sure if its due to youth at the WRs and lack of reps with Lamar when it comes to the hot routes. I do think Lamar gets locked in to one guy or side of the field and makes it too easy for the defense to key in on that. Combined with our stale route combinations, doesn't leave too much to work with when the pressure comes.
I want to see JK more in the passing game to be somewhat of the safety valve/easy hot for Lamar when not something is there. But him being a rookie he might be limited playbook wise this season.
But yeah, Lamar makes a lot of turnovers that have you scratching your head thinking he's doing too much.
Hurst was great at running those inside seam routes and those hitches in the soft zones. I think Sneed has taken that role to some extent but now our running game isn't as dynamic since we can't run as many of those tight packages anymore.
The issue with throwing it outside IMO is who is your go to guy? Y'all get to see more games than me but whether its play-calling or WRs I'm not seeing a lot of good opportunities consistently on the outside. Which is having a big WR on the outside would be helpful.
