Secondary isnt that bad

Remember 2 of our top 3 CBs didnt play tonight

Given that Webb can't cover or tackle and nobody else but smith can I'd say so. Our secondary has 1 interception through 9 games. Same amount as the jets. Our secondary is both lacking in talent and poorly coached.

I blame Harbaugh, Spagnulo, Pees, and Ozzie. Chykie Brown and Darian Stewart had no business being on the team. Elam has no business being a Nickel back. Every single one of them is coached not to mess up which is bad considering the talent level. They need to be more aggressive to overcome their lack of talent. Teams aren't afraid to throw at players that won't pick it off.

Webb is done.when you play 10 yards off the ball and still get beat deep its over

We should move him to FS

Well atleast the tough part of our schedule is over

The only game we should lose the rest of the season is @ the Saints

Yeah, and I think that might be the only one they can lose from here on, unfortunately. Ideally they win one of @ MIA/ @ HOU, and besides an L @ NO, win out. Even then, 10-6 might not be enough for the WC.

But the silver lining is that PIT and CIN haven't played each other yet, so maybe if all breaks right, 10-6 plus tiebreakers could win the AFCN. Long shot but it's possible.

Just get past TEN and reach the bye at 6-4. That break can't get here soon enough. This team needs to regroup and get healthy more than anything.

playoffs looking funny in the light for us right now...san diego is collapsing though and we play them at the end of the month for a possible tie breaker if it comes down to it. Would rather have the AFC North slot than a wild card, but right now that's what's it's looking like.

Would have been a different game with Jimmy and Asa in. Jimmy would have locked down on Antonio. Our safeties are relying on our cb play this season.

Last nights bad performance had ALOT to do with Jimmy not playing

And yes Asa is a factor,he's arguably our 2 best CB at this point or at the very least hes our 3rd best CB

They played bums like the Falcons, Browns, Bucs and Panthers, and a Steelers team that wasn't clicking at all.
How many 1st downs has the secondary given up? 116, which is 26th in the NFL.
52 3rd down conversions, which is also 26th
How many 3rd and longs have turned into huge gains? How many times did they let Cincy(2x) and Pitt drive down the field when they needed a stop?The safeties are awful. Can't cover to save their lives. Elam can't cover or tackle... And just because Asa is the 2nd or 3rd best corner we have doesn't mean he's a good corner.

This is because of that bend but dont break D which had been working before last night(2nd in redzone D,2nd in points allowed)

We cant play aggressive like yall want because like you said our Safeties are awful plus the injuries to CBs

We just need a FS the team trusts so our secondary can go back to playing aggressive

I been saying since last year they need to try Webb at FS.I actually thought we would do that if we took a CB in this past draft but we didnt

As far as Elam,yall know i dont like that dude and didnt like the pick when it was made but we haven't used him right since hes been here

Hes a troy polomalu type of SS who needs to play close to the line but we used him at FS last year and mostly use him as a nickel corner this year

Terrence Brooks is also looking like a SS to me and i like him a little more than Elam

If we can ever get Jimmy,Webb,and Asa healthy at the same time and our safeties dont have to cover WRs man to man anymore we'll be fine

Not saying our secondary is great or anything but they are far from awful

Brooks seems more natural at covering then Elam, he always had stone hands though cant catch an INT to save our lifes. Honestly... putting Ed back at FS would make us so much better but that's just a fantasy.

worse case scenario Reed doesnt produce but still teaches guys like Elam and Brooks how to be better players

Ed must have really burned that bridge with the team because hes 10x better than the trash we've been throwing out there at safety every week

i think bringing him in could be the spark the D needs

He's gone because harbaugh was mad that he led that mutiny in 2012

I have to admit, Asa's been out so long that I forgot he was even on the team.

yeah hes only played 2 full games this season and those 2 games he played Webb was out

but he looked good in those games plus the preseason

hes alot better than Franks and Chykie Brown thats for sure

crazy shyt is our top 3 CBs still havent played together yet this season

matter of fact 2 of them have been injured for every game except the Bucs and Falcons game(Jimmy and Webb played but Asa didnt)

so for 7 of the 9 games so far we've been missing 2 of our top 3 corners

if we can just get all 3 healthy at the same time i think we'll see a different defense.

I not as concerned about the D as yall are,the offense is what really concerns me

for the 2nd straight week we got killed by the blitz and the oline looked awful.Monroe and Osemele have been awful since returning last week

Cincy gave everyone the blueprint last week...just blitz us and we cant do shyt.Oline cant pick up the blitz,WRs not getting open quick enough,no hot routes,etc

the lack of talent on offense shows everytime we play a decent defense.

Torrey and Jacoby have been exposed.Its obvious now that they cant just run go routes every play like they did in the Air Coryell that they arent good WRs.Marlon Brown has also sucked

the most consistent weapon on offense is probably Owen Daniels smh

were probably gonna go 9-7 or 10-6 because of the easy schedule we got but we aint doing shyt in the playoffs(if we get there) with this offense
