The 111th Edition of Clean, Old Fashioned Hate: GT vs. UGA: Between the Hedges

It's been a disappointment for both schools this season. UGA has been up and down in Kirby Smart's first season as head coach and GT has had another frustrating season defensively. Despite underwhelming seasons, this game still means a lot for both schools. For Tech, a win would mark two wins in a row for Paul Johnson in Athens, getting to 8 wins and a chance to rebound from a disappointing 2015. For UGA it would represent a strong finish to a season that was dead in the water after another L to Florida.

With that said, GT/UGA brehs I think we need to revisit this rivalry because I wanna put something out there that I'm hearing being talked about locally. Is this game on the verge of being irrelevant? Meaning as a UGA breh I'm not feeling the excitement for the game this yr...would this game thread have even been made before game day? To my GT brehs, I know the series is lopsided in UGA's favor but I hear so many of y'all concede defeat that we don't even really trash talk. So I wanna hear what y'all gotta say and what needs to be done to get the excitement back...change the date of the game (maybe earlier in the yr), GT be more competitive, etc. I'm interested in what y'all think

Having both teams not be mediocre in the same year or have the game mean something at least to ONE team.

This year no one is going to their conference championship games, so it's meh.

Honestly this game has never really had a pulse if you don't follow the teams. It matter to UGA because we don't want to lose. Tech seems to be fine with winning occasionally.

Yea the game has to mean more with better teams, but I think it's struggled to matter even with one team clearly better than the other. When was the last time you were hype for this game?

2014. There's gonna be down years every now and then. Just this year has been meh.

Hype for it, who knows. I can't lie, I'm usually low key about it and then during the game I'm on 10.
