I want to trust it because it's Oliver Stone, but then again I don't know...plot seems a lil' cheesy to me & I'd bet money the script is cheesy as shyt.

yeah this caught my eye the last time i was at the movies and saw the trailer but i just dont know. like someone said, i trust oliver stone completely. one of my fav directors but i could see this coming off as cheesy. im a huge fan of bencio as well but salma hayek's character seems over the top.

i have the book laying around somewhere but im not sure if i should read it first cuz then ill for sure not like the movie

Yes, they were simps.

Its brutal, but not as brutal as some other Oliver Stone movies.

It was actually very entertaining. del Toro was playing his scummy Mexican well while Salma Hayak was the life of the movie. Blake Liverly looked very scrumptous, and I dont dig white girls of her ilk like that.

But the ending, the ending killed the whole vibe of the movie.

I read the book, and I agree, (off the trailer) Salma Hayek seems like she is playing the role over the top, as do the other cartel guys, swaggering around in suits like 'Miami Vice', but I think the movie will be pretty fukking good anyway. Probably the best movie I have seen this year, so far, nothing has been very good.

I'm relieved then, from the trailer, brief shots, it looks like Stone went to the 'Scarface' well. Salma Hayek looked good, I just felt the character would be more refined, as it's based on an actual person, an accountant. Salma looked like she was about to break into the 'Dusk Til Dar' strip tease scene.
