I highly doubt that servers of that importance don't have backup/auxiliary power in the event of a major shut off or outage. But office lights? Heating? etc..nah.

Those whole buildings have generators bro, they can power themselves for a while before they would go out.

Another thing to consider is some cities require lights to stay on due to the building code. Its called emergency lighting. In terms of heating that's a fair point.

Just read that when this happened in 2011 Texas borrowed power from Mexico to help.


SO WHY THE FUCCK HAS NOBODY MADE THE CALL YET!?!?!?

On the news they said power was being transferred from Mexico but they had to stop due to increase demand on the Mexican grid. And that amount still wasn't enough to make up for the lack of Generation.

Everybody pushing for Green Energy better come up with some kind of base load Energy solution that's reliable. Or disasters like this will keep happening.
