"Director Damien Leone has hinted that Terrifier 4 may be the final installment in the franchise. In a recent interview, Leone discussed the possibility of concluding the saga, which follows the violent acts of Art the Clown. This comes after the release of Terrifier 3, which continues to build momentum for the series.
Damien Leone hints Terrifier 4 could be the last movie in the franchise
Damien Leone, director of the Terrifier 3, recently hinted that Terrifier 4 could mark the end of the franchise. In an interview with Variety, Leone said, “It will certainly be an epic showdown, an epic closure to this Art the Clown saga.”
He further teased, “The idea I’m toying with in my head would probably be in some regards the most experimental, so I can’t dive into it too much. Some really, really crazy things will happen in the next one.” However, he clarified that there is “no definitive answer” on how many films remain, stating, “Personally, I can’t see it going further than one or two more films.”
Leone also discussed the creative process behind Terrifier 3. He decided to pay tribute to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho by making a more brutal version of the iconic shower scene. “So I said, ‘How do I take that scene and make it my own? Let’s give him a chainsaw instead, because it’s more savage than a knife, and let’s make it two people instead of one person.'” This change highlights how he made the scene his own.
The higher budget for Terrifier 3 allowed Leone to enhance production quality. He hired Christien Tinsley, a renowned special effects artist, which was a “game-changer” for the film. Despite the budget increase, Leone noted the challenges it brought, such as working with more people and dealing with stricter regulations.
As for Terrifier 4, Leone teased that the film will be “experimental” and that “some really, really crazy things will happen.” While Terrifier 4 might conclude the saga, Leone’s comments suggest that fans could potentially see one or two more films before the story reaches its final chapter."
