Terrible Father or No Father?

But nah, thinking over the various friends I've got. Some have fathers, some don't; I didn't for the most part. My moms was litt though when I was young and I never really had a "WHY HE DONT WANT ME MAN" moment, on the other hand I had friends with terrible fathers that were infinitely abusive & mad of those friends either fell into the street or had crippling self-esteem issues going forward (Think, Joe Jackson)

Do you think that a terrible father is worse than no father at all?

I'd say no dad.


My bio dad ain't come around til I was in my teens....and getting attention in football . But I had a step-dad who raised me from like a year old who I view as my real dad. I guess cause my step dad was around, I never had that Fresh Prince moment. I knew who he was, but I really wasn't trippin the whole time he wasn't around. When we did start hanging out, he was cool as shyt and I noticed I acted just like him. It was weird. We ain't that close now, but he cool in my book .

This thread has been done before. But no father is better than a terrible father. Some father's have murdered their offspring. I dont know how you argue for something like that.

I got an uncle thats pretty much a dead-beat..... Babymamas all over the globe.... He might even have a kid somewhere in brazil or Argentina... He communicates with his multiple seeds via facebook and WhatsApp

Either way tho, solid male leadership is key...... Its gotta come from somewhere.... Whether an older brother or a big homie or a mentor etc etc

As long as you got some OG wisdom/guidance..... You're good.

I dont subscribe to the belief that society & families can function without that male leadership.

Grew up with parents.

Within limits I'd say that a bad father is better than having no father. Too much strain on a woman to raise children by herself.

Dumb question, terrible dad might still could provide for his family to keep the lights on and food on the table. Yeah, the children end up fukked up but, there are scenarios where shyt can be worse like one parent financing everything.

Theres a huge difference between a kid having a terrible father and no father. A terrible father can traumatize you emotionally, physically and mentally. A Terrible father can shape who you grow up to be for the worse.

Im always extremely glad I was blessed to have a great stable household with both of my parents being present & being there for me
But in this scenario Id say having no father in your life would be better than an abusive piece of shyt
