"The manager of Terence Crawford has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that his charge, Terence Crawford, is set to face junior welterweight contender Dierry Jean on October 24th in Omaha, Nebraska.
"I talked to ( Terence) this morning, I'm trying to get a contract so I can get everything signed and everything. We're ready go to," said Cameron Dunkin.
On April 18th in Arlington, Texas, Crawford stopped Thomas Dulorme in six rounds for the vacant WBO 140-pound title. It was his only bout of 2015, meaning that he will most likely only have two appearances this year, which is problematic to Dunkin who likes to keep his fighters busy.
Coming off a banner 2014 and at 27, a fighter like Crawford (26-0, 18 KO's) shouldn't be relegated to just two fights in a calendar year. Dunkin has let Top Rank know that next year Crawford should be more active.
"They're talking about getting three fights next year from HBO and we had a long talk about it, already," said Dunkin.
"So they're working on it, they said they want to get him started early (in 2015) that way he can get three fights in with HBO and I'm like,'Yeah, if we can do one more - some kind of small pay-per-view or something - even four fights would be great. He wants to fight."
