This is why he is the least bankable star out of the 4 kings....while Ryan, Tank and Devin building on the momentum from their last fights and dropping hints at their next opponents....you have Teo here putting a complete stop to his momentum after a huge win.

If this is out of spite so that he can say in divorce that his earnings are $0 and his wife won't get future $$ it's a pretty dumb move.
The moment he "un-retires" and signs a new fight contract, he'll be back in court and his wife will get that money too.

Sugar Ray Leonard retired like 5 times, including after winning Olympic gold. Floyd Mayweather “retired” in 07’, Bernard Hopkins “retired” at 41 (he fought until he was 51), Oscar De La Hoya was supposed to retire at 30 to become an architect, Mike Tyson claimed he was retiring after he beat Michael Spinks, Sugar Ray Robinson said he was done after he almost died of heat exhaustion against Joey Maxim and he came back and fought another 10 years, etc…

All good points re retirement, money etc.
The one thing though is that Lopez is completely shot mentally, and he knows this, and we all know this. If he retires he takes the massive burden of pressure off his shoulders. He's done it all now, except make a huge stack. He's got a lot of belts already at two different weight classes.
