this the only game I know where if you EVEN THINK about ANY other input your block just doesn't exist whatsoever...sidestep is barely a suitable defense but block in tekken 8 is probably the least effective i've ever seen

It's most games in general, but the spotlight is especially bright on fighting game failures due to all the isolated variables the genre has going within it. Some of the average causal gamers still almost solely button mash, even when they're not even in range of their opponent. Add also the ones that still treat all controllers like wii remotes and move it up and down n shyt in their presumed correlation to the game's actions. Probably the most demanding game genre tbh. You blow through controllers faster than any other kind of game and the 1v1 aspect removes any kind of bs excuses or team carrying. You gotta spend hours upon hours of getting your ass beat and even after playing for 500+ hours to get good, you can still easily come across somebody so much better than you that you don’t even look like you know how to play the game.
Fighting games as an actual hobby is not for the faint of heart
It's my fukking opinionand I'm a huge fan of Tekken over Street Fighter. And also, I prefer Mortal Kombat over Street Fighter. I like SF but do not love SF like that.

Bruh, I didn't realize how fukking stupid casual fighting game players were until I watched LTG play MK1. Holy shyt that player base is dumb as hell in that game. They'll have clear ways to get around zoning or just straight up stop it but won't use it he correct moves like they don't know their character has those moves. Or some would even use the correct move, see that it works, but stop doing it and get killed. Now, I don't play mk at all. ever. but I'm cold at fgs, not the best any more or anything. but like...right outside of good regional player level. I'm only saying to to say the gap between and them on some shyt they "played" and I didn't was so fukking funny I had that whole house hot
from simply blocking and figuring out grabs and my plus buttons.
