Well I was in MPCforum.com and someone mention recording into cassette recorder and get that gritty analog sound since I had one in the closet I said fukk it let me try it.

I made all the beats on MPC2000XL run it through my analog mackie mixer straight to my sony tape player no mixing or EQing.

I sort of do this too just using my computer

I resample down all my stuff to 26.04 kHz along with some other aliasing fx stuff via audacity which does a pretty good job of emulating the output of the SP-1200.

This shyt is ill too.
