It seems that 2006 championship gave him total immunity.
He takes games off in the playoffs every year but doesn't get criticized by the media. Instead, Lebron takes all the blame.

Is there another player with that kind of immunity in the NBA?

It really is crazy how dudes treated like nba royalty when hes not an all time player because Bennet Salvatore decided to give him a title..

Hes had a few seasons where his teams did nothing hes been injury prone he is not a nba legend who should be immune to criticism..

Hes been a very good pro but the teflon he has makes no sense..For all Lebrons faults he led a team to the finals that Wade would never have in a million years.. they are nowehre near the same level..

Also Wades turned into a huge primadonna/flopper/whiner/softie getting weheelchairs on the court and an all around unlikable guy and the media ignores it

So people weren't saying trade Dwayne Wade when the team went down to the Pacers last series and Wade was yelling at Spo on the bench? What you call teflon I call dude's shine being gone now that he plays with LeBron. Yeah, people let a lot more slide with him, but people also just care less about him then they did when it was just him. If this team wins, LeBron will be the story just like if this team loses.
