A 15-year-old boy lost an arm in a brutal subway surfing incident late Monday morning as a train pulled away from a platform in Queens, police said.

Police and fire crews rushed to the subway station in Jackson Heights around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a possible amputation. There they found the boy on the platform with his arm severed near his left elbow, according to one MTA worker.

Sources said an R train was pulling out of the underground station when the boy fell, causing the brutal injury. Police later confirmed that witnesses said the boy and three of his friends were making risky maneuvers between train cars. It's unclear what happened to the boy but someone on a train pulling into the station called 911 after they saw the boy on the track, missing part of his arm.

The teenager was transported to Bellevue Hospital and police initially said the child was expected to survive.

Detectives were on scene for much of the day and want to speak with witnesses to help piece together the events that led to the teen's tragic fall. Police say they haven't determined whether any charges will be filed.

Train service was disrupted for a time, with subways either bypassing the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station or running express. Get real-time transit updates from all your key commute sources right here.

Doctors can’t reattach the arm of a Queens boy who had the limb severed by a train as he tried to subway surf, his mom told The Post on Tuesday – adding she tried to console him by saying “accidents happen.”

The family of 15-year-old Hamza Mohamed is trying to be supportive and remain positive in the wake of the dangerous stunt, his shaken mother said.

“He lost his arm, his left arm, but he’s going through everything. He’s doing OK,” mom Soha Mohamed said.

“I told him accidents happen in our life and it’s tough for us but we can get through it because we’re strong,” she added.

Hamza is set for surgery Wednesday, at which time the family is hoping to learn whether he can be fitted with a prosthetic, she said. Doctors haven’t told the family when Hamza can go home, but an update is expected at the end of the week, she said.

“I just need him to be OK and then we’ll see everything,” the mom said.

The family was never even aware of subway surfing until the accident Monday, she added.

Hamza was with a group of friends on a northbound R train in Jackson Heights around 10:25 a.m. Monday when he fell from the train and landed on the tracks at the 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue station, cops and sources said.

His arm was detached from the elbow down, with the severed limb found under the R train, a transit worker told The Post on Monday. The boy was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Soha said the family hasn’t told Hamza’s little brother of the extent of the injury.

“We told him that there was an accident and it was a bad situation and [his brother] come back soon,” Soha said.
