According to manager/co-trainer Edison Reynoso, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 32KOs) could still face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs) - but only if the fight takes place at the middleweight limit of 160-pounds.
Canelo-Chavez is still the biggest fight in Mexican boxing. At one point the two fighters were a division apart but the match became more distant when Chavez moved up to 168-pounds late last year. Canelo's last two fights have taken place at 155-pounds.
While it's very unlikely, Chavez claims he can still make the middleweight limit.
"A possible confrontation between Chavez and Alvarez has been mentioned for quite some time and it would only be possible at 160-pounds, where there is no advantage for anyone," said Reynoso.
Chavez's return is uknown. Canelo and his team will meet with Golden Boy Promotions next week to discuss a return on a date in December.

I would have to go with my boy Canelo as the winner in that matchup to crown the "King of Mexico". JCC Jr would definitely be a hard opponent for Canelo to beat, but I think Canelo is the better boxer between the 2 with better defense. He varies up his attack much more than Jr does.
Being that Im a member of both #CaneloCartel & #ChavezCoalition...it would be a tough night, but it would be a GREAT fight and would definitely sell on PPV. I can see Canelo vs Cotto on Cinco De Mayo 2015 and Canelo vs JCC Jr on Mexican Independence Day 2015
How could one NOT be a fan of Canelo who takes on all challengers?
