The Dark Knight Rises to Get a Director's Cut on Blu Ray and DVD, Bane's Origin Detailed | The Daily SuperHeroThe Daily SuperHero

The Blu Ray and DVD release date for The Dark Knight Rises has yet to be announced because the movie is still performing admirably in theaters but this doesn't mean Warner Bros. and DC are not currently working on the home version of their film. Better yet, there is reportedly going to be a director's cut of the movie when it hits store shelves too.

According to the website Nuke The Fridge, a director's cut will be released and include footage of Bane's origin and also have more screen time for Ra's Al Ghul as well.

Plus, in a recent interview with GQ Magazine, costume designer Lindy Hemming spoke of a scene with Bane that was omitted from the theatrical release.

“The thing that you should have seen during that sequence is [Bane] being injured in his youth," Hemming said. "So one of the fundamental things about his costume is that he has this scar from the back injury. Even if he hasn’t got the bulletproof vest on, he still has to wear the waist belt and the braces.

"In that scene in the prison, where he’s learning to fight the same way Batman learned to fight, he’s wearing an early version of his waist belt. It’s showing support, but it’s not the finished one he eventually wears. He’s also wearing an early version of his gas mask, all glued together … If you look at the film, unless they’ve cut it—and I’m sure they haven’t—there’s a whole early section for Tom Hardy where he’s fighting and being taunted by people. He’s got chains on him, and he’s standing on a wooden thing while people are attacking him. And in that scene, he’s wearing a much more ragged, primitive version of the mask.”

If its 165 minutes of run time in theaters wasn't enough for fans, you'll be getting even more movie footage in this hopeful director's cut release later this year.

I thought Nolan doesn't do Director's Cuts....:ohhh:

He's never really had to. This film tho, due to time constraints, he had to cut. I know he had some unfinished heath ledger footage he wanted to use to, but chose not to for whatever reason.

A directors cut isn't saving this trash.

well, i wouldn't call it trash but i'm not really interested in seeing more stuff considering how the rest of the movie goes...

batman and atomic bombs don't mix... :comeon:
