Well, in my case, I live within a certain means and anything extra is usually out of sight, out of mind. My retirement/401k stuff comes from this. I'm still able to buy what I want in giving the government 'loans' as you would say. All is well that ends well. When I was married, I still claimed single and when I remarry, I'm going to do the same thing.

You need to put 22 dependents and then shove about 25% of your money into AT LEAST a savings account and then when you do your taxes send uncle same what you owe from that account.
When the government gives you money back it means they've been using your money for the entire year and not giving you interest on that money. Just don't do what i did last year and forget to adjust for raises and such

The why is because you overpaid your taxes. So the government is giving you back your overpayment.
What Domingo is saying is that this overpayment you've given; the govt has used throughout the year and is now paying you what you are owed, but with no interest.
