Taraji P. Henson Cast in Richard Pryor Bio-Pic

Lee Daniels recently revealed that he has cast Taraji P. Henson in his Richard Pryor bio-pic that begins filming in March 2015 in New York City. Oprah will play Richard Pryor's grandmother, who was a mean lady who ran a brothel, where her daughter - Richard's mother - worked. He did not state what Taraji's role would be in the film.

They join Mike Epps as Richard Pryor and Kate Hudson as his widow, Jennifer Pryor.

Lee Daniels is writing the script and directing. Oprah is one of the executive producers. The Weinstein Company may release the film in December 2015.

Lee Daniels tends to be take his direction in weird ways and overemphasize the juicier details while leaving the full story out, so I'm worried about this movie. Especially with the source material, I don't want Daniels to over emphasize the drugs and fire stuff...tell a complete story if this is going to be a bio. We will see...

i guess ratchetness still sells. don't know how Oprah puts a positive spend on this project for young girls and women.
