My Own 🌍
According to the current WWE Network schedule for Sunday, Oct. 9, plans for the second SmackDown-branded pay-per-view (PPV) of the “new” era include a special episode of the critically acclaimed Talking Smack post-show.

With the half-hour afterparty, No Mercycoverage will take up four-and-a-half hours.

Everybody loves the Renee Young and Daniel Bryan-hosted Talking Smack, and there is a ton of well-deserved buzz around the blue brand in general right now. But is this more wrestling overload on an audience still getting used to bi-weekly PPVs for the ‘E?

And while the on-demand feature of the Network mitigates this problem somewhat, how much attention will No Mercy grab when going head-to-head with the second Hillary Clinton/Donald Trump Presidential debate and the multitude of fallout coverage it will get? Ratings and PPV buys may not be as important to WWE with their over-the-top service, but they still crave social media impressions, which may be harder to come by on the 9th.

Talking Smack going mainstream :wow:

When your aftertalk show is better than your product :heh:
:whoa:

Smackdown is officially back. The short version:

The storytelling and using (and most especially highlighting) the best of a relatively stacked roster...it works quite well.

The long version:

The Heath Slater storyline alone shows they get it. They know how to build stars and matchups, even consistently highlight their solid women's division each week.

They have Carmella heeling it up fukking with Nikki Bella, Naomi sprinkles molly dust on the crowd when she enters, Natalya is annoyingly trying too hard, and Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch are heel and face in a solid program for the main event.

They have crafted a nice core with the tag team division - making the Usos conceivably turn heel and be great foils to American Alpha, told a story of an old vet like Rhyno using Slater's predicament for his gain, and helped the Hype Bros gain a little credibility. I wonder what the Vaudevillains could be doing, if Gotch didn't fukk up backstage.

The hierarchy for the singles competition seems appropriate for having a couple of titles to work with; even Curt Hawkins and Jack Swagger are getting decent builds, although I'm biased in enjoying the cringe comedy that is Jack Swagger trying to cut promos like a fake bro.

JBL has improved and enjoys being able to share wrestling knowledge and play heel when necessary, people actually want Otunga to finish his goddamn story, and Mauro Renallo's iconic sports voice (added to his encyclopedic knowledge of wrestling moves) gives him a legitimate claim as one of the best wrestling play-by-play announcers ever.

So that's why an addendum program can get so much buzz. Smackdown has done a hell of a lot better than one could reasonably expect with a smaller talent pool, and consistently provides a more entertaining presentation.

Plus when Shelton comes back :noah:

No. It's just WWE continuing to cater to smarks because casuals have long abandoned this bullshyt.

If Miz didn't break the 4th wall no one would give a fukk about Smarkdown :dead:
