Sylvester Stallone Confirms Nic Cage In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Interest In Harrison Ford & Wesley Snipes
The testosterone-fueled action film franchise headlined by Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially been put on the Millennium Entertainment release docket for development.
The Expendables 2, directed by Simon West (The Mechanic) and starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Scott Adkins, Liam Hemsworth and Bruce Willis, was released in theaters this summer to positive reviews and solid financial take; although it wasn't as financially lucrative as the first film.
Last week at the American Film Market, Millennium Entertainment announced that The Expendables 3 is definitely moving forward. There are no definitive start date or release plans for The Expendables 3 at this time, though it is likely the film will begin production sometime next year.
Star and executive producer Sylvester Stallone recently took to Facebook to comment on the development of the project, responding to random criticisms from around the internet:
"We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group. Hopefully we can realize to Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Mickey Rourke. That is the great mission of the producer. We will continue with the same narrative scheme, the agility and the frenzy, which are inherent to the saga. What will definitely be the last? I can not guarantee. In principle it would be two deliveries, but the affection of the people encouraged us to work on a third. I guess as long as we amused ourselves by offering fun and people, we can continue playing 'The Expendables'. For now we are not as expendable as it should and as some critics want."
