I just fukking loved the reactions here and on the live chat when they announce that shyt would be paid after everyone was assuming it would just come pre installed in the system.

Apparently it only cost about 6 bucks in Japan (keep in mind that the system + 1 game cost over 500 bucks) which makes it even funnier because Nintendo never takes a loss on anything so that should tell you how much it costed to make.

Of course its not a huge deal and most people will ignore the thing but god damn it, never change Nintendo, your dumbass fans sure don't want you to :russ:

This should've been free. No one is going to buy this nonsense. Their pricing strategy screams arrogance. I can see Sony and MS doing the same with increasing the price of games.

I'm one of the Nintendo fans on here, but God damn it's a dumb decision not to offer it as a pack-in like they did with Wii Sports.

Part of what made Reggie Fils-Aime and Satoru Iwata great leaders is that they were consumer-minded and had a great understanding of how build loyalty to Nintendo as a brand. It was Reggie that pushed for Wii Sports to be included on the Wii; even Miyamoto fought him on it. He said "We're Nintendo. We don't give away our work for free." Fils-Aime said they had to push something that showed the potential of the Wii to non-gamers.

That decision was the single best decision the company had made since buying the Pokemon Company. Wii Sports turned the Wii into blockbuster.

I just don't know if there's a voice in their C-Suite that's taking that longterm perspective right now.

Yeah, but remember when we thought 1-2 Switch would be free more recently?

That sold millions. The precedent was set and here we are. Now this game won't be more than $10-$15 depending on region, but it's still egregious.
