People talk a lot about supporting black business; but the information is spreaded all over the place. I wanted to know if one of the mods could make a sticky thread; so all of the black business could be on one thread.

You can post the business and information from yelp, google reviews, bbb, their offical website and etc., and even if it's a local business you can still post it. Also when you post the business you can do a personal review of the business; if you feel like it.

I don't know who the mods are for the root section; but I'm just trying to see wassup.

There was a thread a week or two back where bedazzle and me listed the 3 auto manufacturers in Africa. Is there any way those 3 car companies can be listed in this type of thread. I can research the 3 companies again if you need me to do so.

Yeah. That's good idea; I really did not know there were african automobile manufactures. I was think about this the other day; because I was saying to myself every race has a their own automobile manufacturing company besides us.

I think a recommendation thread would be best. Maybe have people name their city/area and some recommended black businesses there. Mine would be:

Eso Won Books in Leimert Park, LA, California. This is a great black bookstore full of our classics and is organized, with friendly service.

Smoke Shop in Inglewood, California on the corner of Fairview and La Brea. Don't know the name of this place but the owner's name is Tom and he's a pretty cool dude. I go there often and he has Backwoods, Swishers, cigarettes, etc. It feels good to give him money instead of racist Arabs/Koreans/Latinos/Indians who usually run smoke shops. He's let me slide a few times on a couple dollars here and there which rarely ever happens at the aforementioned nonblack stores.

Illinois Service Bank in Chicago is a Black owned. I have been banking there for almost 25 years, but they are in a little trouble of late.

"Only two black-owned banks remain in Chicago, and the oldest is in need of a rescue.

Illinois Service Federal Savings & Loan, a thrift founded by 13 African-American men in 1934 as a depositor-owned lender serving credit-starved Bronzeville, is seeking a $7 million lifeline. A federal consent order issued April 16 puts the pressure on the $110 million-asset lender to shore up its capital or face “corrective action” from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Without an infusion, Illinois Service risks closure and transfer of its deposits and loans to another bank.

Illinois Service's woes follow the failure five months ago of Highland Community Bank, a black-owned lender on the South Side. Regulators closed Covenant Bank, an African-American-owned bank on the West Side, in 2013... ."
