Based on what?

When was he even good?

MOS was eh, he was terrible in BVS, Justice League he had a good action sequence without saying any lines. He looked the part but never played the part.

His Superman is forgettable unless you're a Snyder stan. Snyder didn't understand the character at all.

Only time he resembled Superman was in the Joss Whedon Justice League

The man of steel suit with cavil's physique was dope... this new guy is :ld: Meh....yes yes i know he's a new superman and he can be lean and strong and not bulky... :comeon: i need a trailer...
Cavill had a good build but that suit padded as fukk. You will need the Rock physique to not need padding in those suits.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
VFX shyt that will be fixed. Apparently almost all that is handled in post production

I never knew they did this... Makes sense though when you see Deadpool and Wolvie in those baggy ass suits

I don't agree that Supes needs to look like a bodybuilder that got the hotline to every PED under the sun

Brandon Routh looked the part IMO, script was just utter trash

This dude looks OK from what I've seen thus far, isn't necessarily going to be the look that makes or breaks this project anyway

So basically 90% of the people I just listed? Who did Marvel make a star out of that list that wasnt already on a top hit show or movie by the time of their casting ?

chris pratt and chris evans were super stars by this time period, knock it off. Chris Pratt and Chris Evans were more popular than Idris at the time of their casting.

so who did Marvel make a star from the list I just posted ? Reread what he typed and reread what I responded with.

I think your memory is a little shaky :ld:
Marvel made RDJ a superstar. Ironically, RDJ made the MCU at the same time. RDJ was already a respected actor but the MCU blew him up.

Being on a top show or hit movie doesn't make you a superstar. Being a main reason something is a hit does. Being able to translate that same effect to something else shows star power. All of the Chris' owe their current popularity to the MCU. Hemsworth has been able to seemingly find a niche with Extraction, but has bombed, with an already set franchise, outside the MCU. Jurassic Park was already a blockbuster franchise before Pratt and he couldn't sustain its popularity.

This isn't even a knock on these people or the MCU. The age of super stars is ending or the term super star has to have lowered expectations. Tom Cruise can still helm two franchises that he actually created to this day, and have them do numbers off his name and the legacy he created. Denzel can do whatever he wants and people are gonna care about it off his name. What is Anthony Hopkins dropping that will have people flocking to theatres just because he's in it. Sam Jack? shyt, did people see that first Kong flick because Hiddleston was in it or because of the giant ape?

David's Superman is looking tired and this is only his first movie :picard:

Looks like he's feeling the pressure of having to carry the whole DCU:mjlol:

Superman being overly brolic doesn't make much sense when he also needs to be Clark Kent. Clark looking like The Rock would just be weird. He shouldn't be physically imposing and Superman's powers aren't tied to him being massive like the Hulk.

You can have a solid physique without being swole. They don't need to bulk up the actor too crazy.

They need to focus on properly translating the character to screen.

Exactly.

Nailing Clark is literally half the battle, this dude looks like he could do that provided they give him good material.

Chris Pratt was a fan favorite on a #1 show (Parks and Recreation) before Marvel :dead: how did Marvel make Chris Pratt career :dead:
Pratt was a funny fat dude. C'mon fam. Do you think he gets Jurrasic Park off Parks & Rec? Really? It's like RDJ getting Tropic Thunder and Sherlock Holmes after Ironman. That'd be more believable at least, considering what he had under his belt at the time.
