Neither are the most powerful people in universe.

Superman is.

Him cosplaying as a reporter in 2025 is just DUMB BS and waste of time in a movie.

The secret identity is just outdated.

Lex Luthor is meant to be the smartest person in universe but can't figure it out?

Then if Lex does figure it out they have the character keep the info for himself for no damn reason :mjtf:

Y'all love to GAME yourselves. Instead of having an action focused Superman movie constructed around the character's powerset that gets you off your seat. You wanna waste time with buffoonish shyt like this

Superman-Street-1024x576.jpg

:what:

We don't need to see him cosplaying as a reporter for him to be humanized? :mjtf:

The character can be humanized by the decisions he makes in movie the same way we saw with Steve Rogers.
you clearly just don't fukkin like superman...why are you interested in this?

This is such a weird take. Clark Kent is part of Superman's lore. That's like saying that all secret identities are pointless. If these people are able to do superhuman things why bother with any secret identity? But aside from that, Clark Kent serves several purposes. There's whole dissertations, no seriously, dissertations on this. If you don't like Clark Kent that's different than saying the Kent identity has no purpose, which isn't true.

Steve Rodgers works for the govt and has govt benefits. How would Superman cash checks and pay his bills without giving up his real name and social security number:comeon:

Without

a)stealing money
b)selling his image and signing autographs
c) charging the city and other governments for his services

3 things that would all give people a way to question his selflesness. Wouldnt that be bad for the character?

It's not that I don't like Superman.

Everything I said was done in the Justice League cartoon and Man of Steel.

So it CAN be done.

So why aren't we continuing from that?

What did I say that you have an issue with.
maybe you aren't making your point clear because it sounds like you said:

Him cosplaying as a reporter in 2025 is just DUMB BS and waste of time in a movie.

The secret identity is just outdated.

when he a secret identity in man of steel...and justice league....wtf are you saying breh?

The existance of Clark Kent is one of the most important things in the history of comics...

You’re arguing to change one of the most iconic and historical storylines ever lol

Everyone knows it’s fiction

Exactly,he needs to join in hating Lois Lane like me if you want to talk about serving no purpose lol.

How often did we see Clark doing reporter work in Man Of Steel and BVS? Now compare that to how much we saw Lois:martin:

And all you hear is "shes apart of Supermans lore!". Can she not be apart of the lore and only get as much screen time as Aunt May or Pepper Pots:mjlol:

My issue is why the NEED to rush Lois? Will anybody ever complain if a great Superman movie was made by saying "Bu bu but we needed more Lois in the film". I dont think weve ever heard that complaint, and so far have yet to be given a chance to have that complaint. Im going in skeptical after all these Lois scenes in the TEASER trailer. Love interest can be built over a trilogy without trying to make them a thing in the first film. You cant force good chemistry anyway as we saw with MOS. Put her in the movie 10 minutes or an hour, without chemistry and her being likeable, its a waste of our time and Supermans time.

I don't know people would like Silver Age depicted on film. Not only were the stories and concepts wacky but Superman is an a$$hole most of the time. I haven't watched the trailer and don't think I will because I don't want too much spoiled.

A lot of Silver Age characters have stuck around and been modified. Bizarro was a silver age character but in the 90s they changed his origin and made him a tragic figure.

These are examples of silver age superman stories

ITS NOT ABOUT WHAT PPL WANT...

lol. Great point. Also he's a a literal alien and needs to stay grounded. If he just walked around with a big cape and S on all day he'd either have to chose a life of complete isolation or nonstop hero worship (both would suck to have constantly). He also needs to be mindful of the safety of those he cares about. Walking around with the suit all the time puts a target on his back as well as those who interact with him regularly. Also dude probably wants some breathing room, to be able to move freely and get a bite to eat or even take a shyt in piece without people asking him for stuff or freaking out because he's literally infamous. But yeah, I think this basic point of yours is true that it would be very hard for him to just live in a capitalistic society like America without pimping himself or his image out. He needs Clark Kent to not only have some breathing room from scrutiny but also to just to make honest money.

because lois lane is superman's only weakness.

Kryptonite is a vulnerability, but if you REALLY want to disable superman, it is lois lane. its been proven in almost every iteration. You downplay lois and basically you have a loveless superhero with all powers and no weaknesses...i'm bored already

This is such a weird take. Clark Kent is part of Superman's lore.

And it's outdated outside of an origin where he's intentionally hiding like we saw in Man of Steel which ended with The Government and Lois knowing who he was. But then they devolved everything in the sequel.

Remember when "Iron Man" was "Tony Stark's bodyguard"? notice how we no longer have dumb "lore" that in the movies?

Remember when Batman would recruit 12 year old boys to be "Robins"?:dame:

Why are y'all acting like things can't become outdated?

That's like saying that all secret identities are pointless. If these people are able to do superhuman things why bother with any secret identity? But aside from that, Clark Kent serves several purposes. There's whole dissertations, no seriously, dissertations on this. Superman is the most powerful person in universe that's the damn difference :snoop:

Clark was a reporter in the Justice League cartoon AND Man of Steel. So what are you talking about?

:comeon:

In the Justice League cartoon he was always "Superman" from what I remember.

In Man of Steel he was't a reporter for the movie :dahell:

By the end of Man of Steel Lois and The Government knew who he was.

Everyone in universe should know Clark Kent IS superman.

Also, while Clark is never shown in the Justice League cartoon, it's well established in the DCAU (primarily in Superman: The Animated Series) that he's Clark Kent and works as a reporter at the Daily Planet when he's not Superman.
