Superman without trunks is not Superman to me. I'm glad that Corenswet convinced Gunn.

Some people find the trunks to be "silly" but they're an essential part of Supes costume. They break up the all blue of the rest of his costume. Also, they originate from strongman wrestlers and showmen from the early 1900s.

Watching creatures on Max tells me that's exactly what it'l be cause that's who James Gunn is.

So are we supposed to believe you "just because" or are we supposed to read what Gunn actually said in the interview and take his word on it?

Also.... you missed the part about the box office not recovering from the pandemic. It hasn't. It's at like 75% maybe.. it's never going to get back to 2019 levels.

Yall can kill that Billy talk. The batman had alot of hype leading into it and batman is a much popular character than superman, and didn't make a billion so there's no chance supes is doing it no matter how good it is.

'The Batman' was taken out of theaters after 40 days to placate the execs who wanted it to stream early on Max. It would have made the billion but even so... it's not that important.

'Superman' doesn't need a billion, it needs to be good and profitable.

In the interview posted on this page Gunn says there will be less comedic elements than his previous team up movies and he also said it will be a score driven movie more so than a soundtrack.. The only way we'll know for sure is when the film drops

Gunn’s vision for the film draws from various influences while maintaining its own identity. “All previous DC media influenced me,” Gunn said. “I think that obviously the original Donner movie influenced me, but there’s also a lot of things that this isn’t, like I’m not just making a Donner type movie. It’s very different from that.” Gunn specifically cited “All-Star Superman” as a major comic book influence, noting its Silver Age feel and science fiction approach.

The film’s score, composed by John Murphy, will include nods to John Williams’ classic Superman theme while creating something new. “It’s not a soundtrack, so it’s not about the songs,” Gunn noted. “It’s much, much more of a score film.”

this makes perfect sense imo. all-star is the closest anyone has come to recreating the magic/wonder/awe/inspiration of superman since donner's first two films. if you're trying to put your own spin on that recipe, there is so much material in all-star that might allow you to do something unique. those comics captured what worked in donner's films. but instead of being beholden, morrison took it all and added his own spin by going bat-shyt crazy with the science and the relationships and character-work, and superman + clark's place in all of it.

if that's what gunn has in store for us....

If I ranked my fav comic book movies, less is more would probably be all the top 10.... IW 1, Dr. strange, wolverine, blade, dark knight, mos, the captain americas, BP, antman, first GOTG...........

Nah... I truly believe James Gunn will put out a better overall movie with a tighter script but there's not many directors that can replicate what Snyder does for action sequences.

Everyone knows that 15 minutes sequence that took place was an absolute classic it's the rest of the BS the man puts together
