It wasnt that edgy that he killed zod shyt he lost everything when he did... like it was either save humanity and choose them or kill me and the last ember of your people...
It just happened to fast. Should've let Superman cook as a boy scout for a movie or two before having him forced into this situation. It would've hit harder.

It's crazy to me how Marvel went over a decade with restraint over all kinds of things like Captain America picking up Thor's hammer or even saying "Avengers Assemble". But Superman has to make the ultimate decision at the end of his first outting - I'm like "you've been a 'hero' for two days :stopitslime:"

Basic storytelling also. The movie never established killing was a problem for Clark.

The scream is supposed to be some chilling moment but never sets it up. He had no allegiance to Zod or what he offers. His death doesn’t initiate a choice.

In BB, the first time Bruce confronts The League he says he won’t kill the criminal(after initially attempting to kill Joe Chill) and through the next three movies his wrestles with that.

Let’s be honest…. No one really gave a damn about Superman killing Zod.

I think more of the problem was how there wasn’t any true humanity shown with Clark or Superman and Henry/Zack didn’t really do a good enough job in showing the differences between the 2

Not saying he had to trip over his shoelaces as Clark. But he could played Clark a little bit more naive and SM more swaggy

The trailer for this will be crazy.....

I trust Gunn....if he is not going the comedy route

He’s absolutely going the comedy route.

Gunn wants to put smiles on faces and make you laugh

Clark tripping over his shoe strings and you’re gonna love it

Jonathan Kent should've been teaching Clark about the importance of protecting and not killing, rather than hiding his identity and not interfering. It is a more important moral lesson anyway.

I still like MoS but you make a great point.

Thanks. The movie is full of those kinds of problems for me which is why I can’t enjoy it, but I see why people like it. The movie has good character moments.

Gunn, even if I don’t enjoy his comedy all the time, knows how to set up and payoff character beats

Is that why he "protected" the kids on the school bus...and "protected" the oil rig workers because he wanted to hide?
