Super Nerd Stuff: Anybody ever play a MUD?

I was put onto MUDs back when I was in 6th or 7th grade. The best were these two graphical ones made by the same guy, a Final Fantasy one that was basically FF1 for the NES and a DBZ one. I haven't messed with MUDs in a decade, but I was wondering if anyone else did. Super nerd shyt.

yep back in Middle school. Played quite a few but this was around the time graphical MMORPGs started coming out (i.e. everquest) and I started to play an independent one called "Dark Ages" and quickly abandoned the MUDs

Yeah I didn't mess with them for too long, but it was fun while it lasted. Good times. I'm trying one out now to see if I can still get into this shyt.

This is the new one I'm trying out. It's just like the graphical dbz MUD I previously mentioned, except it only has ASCII art. To connect to it on a telnet client, the host is "dbzepic.org" and the port is "6200"

The first time I heard about a MUD was at a "book fair" at my elementary school, probably somewhere from 96-98, I ordered a book called "Cyber Zone" where the protagonist was introducing to MUDs by a friend. I didn't play one for myself until like 5-6 years later.

The good ol' days, yeah

Never heard of BBS door games. I looked up the ones you mentioned, though. Trade Wars sounds dope.
