Super Bowl is too baked into American Culture, the numbers will continue to rise year in and year out. Even people who don't watch football go to Super Bowl parties. Yes the NBA took headlines away from the Super Bowl Media Week with all those trades but that's not the same as pulling in NFL ratings. Plus Media Week is really just to get to know the players and never really moved the needle. This game was going to break records based on the historical stakes. You have to go back to the Patriots/Giants perfect season game to find a game with this much historical significance. Eagles/Chiefs broke the record last time and they broke it again this time. If Jalen and Patrick face off a 3rd time in the Super Bowl it will break records once more. What's crazy was it was a Blowout so people still tuned in either hoping the Chiefs would come back or happy to see them getting beat.
