this shyt was great...when it got into the later parts of his career and life it gets real sad

Seem like everything started to unravel before the first Basilio fight. All of the businesses just went down hill.

And Edna Mae was a dime back in her day. Don't understand why he laid hands on that pretty woman.

If you figure how many fights he had, 15 round fights, sometimes like 4-5 in a single month and remained undefeated until he was like 37....what he did was amazing. Dude didn't lose until he had well over 100 fights.

Lost his first fight, professional or amateur at 21 to Jake LaMotta. He had just moved up to MW.

:ohhh:

Is this a new joint or the old hbo one?
I don't know bruh. I think it was old tho. You know when they show old shyt in hd and it be in the small box. It was like that.

I seriously plan on doing more research about his boxing career. I did the same with Jack Johnson after watching his PBS Doc 10 years ago.

Looking at how he came back and beat Fuller, LaMotta, Basilio, how can you say he's not the greatest ever.
you should know to ignore anyone who would ever say such a thing

Muhammad Ali called Sugar Ray "the king, the master, my idol."

"Robinson could deliver a knockout blow going backward," boxing historian Bert Sugar said.

Saw a doc on HBO about him a long time ago, this might be the one. I remember the mob asking him to throw a fight and he straight up told them no, and they had so much respect for him there were no repercussions.
