ORANGEBURG, S.C. — A student has been shot at South Carolina State University, and officials say they are searching for the suspect.
The incident took place Friday afternoon at the Orangeburg college.
Sonya Bennett, a Vice-President of Communications and Marketing, said a student was involved. She says SC State officials know who the shooter is, and are searching for the person.
Photos taken from the scene appear to show that the shooting took place at Hugine Suites, a dorm on campus.
The campus has been placed on lockdown.
The school has scheduled a press conference for 4 p.m. ET.
