I get a strange disappointment from them.
Mitchy happens to be one of my favorite underachievers -- he's got one of the freshest deliveries & a deeper perspective than most gangster rappers reveal.
him teaming up with these 2 semi-boring "REAL HIPPER-HOPPERS" aligned some interesting potential: together they could appeal to the streets AND the 'heads' in a way that hadn't been seen in a long while, especially on the West, -- & that they definitely couldn't by themselves. & They could balance, but even better help eachother develop more well rounded.
Instead Krondon just got to pretend he was slightly more gangster, Phil stayed exactly how he was (a tepid better-than-thou stoner), & Mitchy only showed up half the time or less...
So it's never really worked, & I think it's too late to expect anything to pop anymore. I blame Talib Kweli for tainting them with his lameness, & Xzibit for falling off the earth so hard.
