The presenter talked about perceived stress. And how perceived stress in people actually changed their biology!

It should therefore be possible to change biological stress levels by changing our mental patterns, how we think about our own life situation.

Three very important mental patterns are:

1. Perceived risk of getting serious diseases.
2. Perceived chance of aging.
3. Perceived external threats, such as lack of money etc.

By turning around these three mental patterns, our stress levels should be reduced enormously.

Could the perceived stress be a result of the biological stress rather than from mental patterns? Yes, but remember that the biological stress in the first place is caused by mental perception. For example, two separate persons can get more or less stress about the same situation, depending on their mental patterns.

So our mental patterns, how we think about situations and circumstances in life, is a cause of how much actual biological stress we will get. Maybe not the only factor, but it could be a key factor in turning around the whole stress cycle.

stress (negative mental thinking habits) is one of the biggest things plaguing us as a society.

the energy created from negative thinking habits disperses all throughout the body and destroy us from the atomic level up. but its to be expected when you are a part of a society that promotes fear, doubt, and pessimism as its central core tenets.

gives new meaning to the term get ya mind right

Discussed this briefly in a graduate nucleic acid course im taking this past week. havent seen the video yet, but basically stress puts a burden on your entire system, down to the DNA repairing mechanisms we have in the nucleus of each cell in our body. Our DNA is constantly being damaged just by breathing (oxidizing component of air wreaks havoc on our DNA) and stress basically causes the cells to make more mistakes than usual when repairing that damage. Leads to accelerated aging. Just one of many theories out there.
