Bam=Bam want NL East
4th straight win and dominating win over probably the most patient team in the NL last night. Seeems like his average spped on fastballs were 96 to 97 mph. Thats the best he's looked since his debut. He mixed up his chang-up beatifully with his fastballl and jsut dominated. He also had his best pitching velocity since june last night.
It seems to me that having Stras in the playoffs almsot clincheda world series for the Nats but withiout him just give other team a fighting chance, but we still have the best rotation without Stras. Zimmermann is consistently a solid pitcher. He's only thrown 2 bad games this entire season. While he cannot reach the level of dominance that Strasburg can, he also never seems to just lose it like Strasburg can.
And Gio, while he is sometime inconsisten with control issues, has shown that he can essentially eliminate lefties from a lineup with that curve, which is something Strasburg just can't do, until he learns that his change up is his best out-pitch .Considering that most of the big bats we'll have to neutralize in the playoffs are left handed , I like Gio better than Starsburg to be able to handle that.
And then Edwin jackson has the postseason experince that you like a pitcher to have and is a solid number 3 pitcher.
