I heard during the broadcast of the OKC game that Wemby likes to read for an hour before going to sleep. So the Spurs don't even call his phone after a certain time to bother him.
That kid has a system in place for life and basketball. Whatever he becomes as a pro, it sounds like his parents did a great job.

Looks like Wemby's minutes are creeping up around 30.
I think the Spurs are smart to limit his minutes. He's young but he's been through a lot. He's been the center of a media frenzy for years and playing competitive games in Europe. He probably didn't get a true off-season before his rookie year. And big men in general can suffer injuries that have a way of lingering for years if they aren't taken care of properly.
Not that I think Wemby should be held to 24 minutes a game. But I do think the progression should remain gradual.
He's getting the experience he needs to adapt to the league. And hopefully with a full summer of rest, 2024-25...the gloves should come off.
