At some point, you just have to admit it. We're what's wrong with hip hop. You can bytch and complain about all the white people in the world. You can bytch and complain about all the c00ns. But this here message board, sohh, and the illcommunity (along with others) were/are your avenues away from manufactured bullshyt that destroys the essence of hip hop......
And what happens??? We destroy it, like we do our communities, over petty shyt. Its 2012 and I still gotta put up with Nas and Jay Z warriors? Its 2012 and we still accept ppl who make "my hood is realer than yours" threads? If we can't even project the true vision of hip hop on a fukkn message board, one that we collectively "own," then how the fukk do we think we can make a difference in the real world.
We turn every message board we get into worldstar. At some point that shyt has to stop and we have to get back to the essence of hip hop.
As much as I like rap genius, that idea shouldn't have been unique to us. We should've had hundreds of threads like that already on all the sites I mentioned. We don't have any threads breaking down flows, patterns or the structural make ups of raps. There are very few intelligent threads about hip hop here, but yet we can't understand why our own parents/grand parents can't consider rap an art.
We are BET. We are the radio stations. We are TMZ. We suck.

again, at some point, we gotta call a spade a spade and actually work toward something positive
