- WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin spoke with The Associated Press to promote being on the cover of WWE 2K16. The full interview is at this link. Below are a few highlights:

Landing the cover:

“I think it speaks to the impact my career had on the business. It was a testament to the times when the business was as hot as it’s ever been. I got a chance to lead that charge and all these years later, it comes back around.”

Possibly wrestling again:

“I think I’ve left everything that I’ve got in the ring. There’s no reason to go back in the ring and prove anything. I had to ride off into the sunset a little bit earlier than I’d have liked. But that final match I had at WrestleMania with The Rock was my last match.”

Let that dream go brehs

When he talked about how hard it was for him to get the rush of the business out of his system on his early podcasts (all the heavy drinking etc and legal troubles he got into in the mid 2000's) you could tell that he's at peace with the in ring part of his career being done with because he doesn't wanna re-open a door that he struggled to close.

I'm not mad at him.

If the money and situation is right he'll be back, but it's basically a 1% shot
Honestly if he doesn't do it at WM32 then he will never do it. It's more likely he won't wrestle next year than it is that he will, but this is WWE's last shot at getting him to be open to the idea of a match. After WM32 comes and passes, no way will he ever wrestle again if he didn't do it at ATT Stadium at a Wrestlemania.

Wait another 24 hours. You gonna hear a report that says "Stone cold planting seeds for final match at Wrestlemania 32?"

If he doesn't compete at Wrestlemania 32, then its over.

I think he also feels he'll come back looking :fif: and being in the ring with Brock will expose that quickly

Agreed. I always thought Austin overthought things like this though. Fans will love it just because of the nostalgia of it alone. He avoided fighting Hogan because he didn't think the match would deliver, and maybe it wouldn't have but who cares, people aren't wanting it so they can see a 5 star classic, they just wanna lose themselves in the moment of seeing their dream matches come to life.

Now he does have a legit concern with Brock breaking his freaking neck if he were to return to face him lol.

This is probably part of a play by Cokeboy to convince Steve to wrestle at Mania

The idea of Stone Cold having one last match with Brock Lesnar is crazy with his neck issues. He knows he'd go all out and Brock is Brock and something could happen.

And he probably doesn't want to do some kind of goofball tag match where he doesn't do much just to get the pop. He can get the pop just walking out there.

As much as i dont want to see it, his best match from a health standpoint would be with HHH
