:ld: i like to think of myself of a connoisseur of sick music and i think i'll use this thread to periodically post videos of bands i think are truly great and spread the word to introduce people to new stuff on THE COLI. this will run the gamut of all genres so there is something for everybody.

here's a song from a band i love called SWELL MAPS:

(OH fukk -- i didn't notice this was a "just you" thread. delete at will)

swell maps is a great and underrated band.

I don't know if sonic youth specifically mentioned them as an influence, but it's there.

I'll go a different direction, but still super underrated.

SUN CITY GIRLS - Torch of the Mystics

Been into this album for a long time. This is from 1990. Band is two Lebanese brothers (Richard and Alan Bishop) and a drummer Charles Gocher (RIP). I never got to see them before the drummer passed but I did see THE BROTHERS UNCONNECTED at the Andy Warhol Museum which was the two brothers playing acoustic and showing some of CG's films and ephemera. It was a dope experience. They sprinkled his ashes on people's foreheads LOL. Anyway this one is for when you want to vibe to the music of some other cultures. Space Prophet Dogon is my track of choice. Give it a go.

THIS THREAD IS BACK.

We all like THE WIRE here but this is BYB's best song:

When I was in college (2000-2004 :flabbynsick: ) I had dudes who were from DC turn me on to this. This is the best BBQ/outdoor/shakejunt music there is. We're still friends to this day and last time we hung out BYB came on right away.
