Ill be starting this either today or tomorrow for the first time.. The routine looks like this

Routine 1: ideal for those with less than 8 months of training

Rotate be

Squats- 5x5
Overhead press-5x5
Weighted chins- 5x5

Workout 2

Deadlifts- 5x5
Bench press-5x5
Barbell rows- 5x5

1.) What should my calories for the day be at? 3k??

2.) How often should I do cardio, do I do it on my off days

3.) Instead of weighted chin ups can I do regular since im just starting out

anything else before I get started with this

What is your goal? Build muscle, lose fat, etc?

People here that can help with tips will need more info. 3K seems like a lot of calories regardless.

make an educated decision about your current body specs(are you fat fat or just doughy)

if you doughy, bulk first and do it the right way

if you chunky cut first then bulk later

dont try to do both

Just called the gym today because I have an orientation session with a trainer this week..

I asked if we could skip all the dumb shyt and just focus on me getting proper form (for my 5x5 routine). They said it'll only be 20 minutes of actual working on and the rest will be checking body fat, stretches, and bullshyt

I said I already have a routine but need proper form.. He said we can discuss it when I come in

So basically I'm going to waste an hour of my time listening to some shyt that isn't going to concern me and basically be a sales pitch

Its free :manny:

Youtube wouldn't hurt for form especially since 5 x 5 you start at the ground floor with weight.
