Square should have never made any direct sequels to Final Fantasy

X-2 was totally unnecessary and to this day i act like it never happened. i own Relevant Wings (basically XII-2) but never played it. just bought it cause it was in a bargain bin for $10. as for XIII-2 i thought it was a solid game but nobody really even wanted it. it shouldn't have happened.

even the squeal to VII was totally pointless fan service.

Unfortunately I own copies of Final Fantasy X-2 with the remaster but I've never played the game and never will.

Final Fantasy VIII, IX, X, and XV are some of the greatest endings in video games and Square chose arguably the best of that lot and decided to drag it down with an unnecessary sequel. I don't think I've ever seen a game stick the landing so well only to have the devs go back and say we might not be able to do better but damnit we're doing something anyway.

that closing scene 10/10.

This is not untrue. Completely arbitrary sequel Someone once said: 'FFX began with a genocide. FFX-2 began with a pop concert' and it explains everything.

That said, X-2 gave us this

And... to be honest, this 1 minute song justifies the whole game's existence for me :yeshrug:.
Especially because it manages to technically be final boss/main antagonist music but you only realize it was once the game's over

The only benefit to these FF sequels being sequels and not just side series games is, they use the composing A-Team for them. And the music is always :ohlawd:
